Here for YOU Today AND Tomorrow!
At the State Bank of Florence kids are not only very special customers, they’re special visitors too! We know the importance of teaching financial responsibility at an early age and want to be there to help in any way we can. Let us be your financial partner and assist you from your first savings account right through retirement.
Elementary School Savings Programs & Financial Education
The State Bank of Florence, in partnership with Florence Elementary School and Wausaukee Elementary School, has two Student Run Financial Institutions that are open during the school year. On a designated day each week, students file into the “Bobcat Bank” or “Ranger Bank” where trained student “tellers” collect and record deposits (in increments of 25 cents) made by students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade.
National Teach Children to Save Day
The State Bank of Florence joins together with area schools participate in “National Teach Children to Save Day”. This day, sponsored by the Wisconsin Bankers Association and American Bankers Association Education Foundation, aims to strengthen financial literacy.
Bank representatives spend the day with students reading storybooks, showing videos and working on various activities like Mike Carton Banks, Monster Mortgage Characters, Penny Laundering and Comparison Shopping. Each activity helps teach the importance of saving money. Children are eager to learn and what better people to teach them about money than a banker.
